Hi family! I don't have very much time today so I'll have to be quick.
I love you all so much!!!!!
Once there was a boy who was friends with an old man. He loved to visit the old man at his house. He loved sitting on the porch hearing his stories and words of wisdom and comfort. One day while visiting his friend, the neighbors came out on their porch and began making fun of the boy. They teased him about his old clothes and his messy hair. It made the boy very sad. The boy didn't go visit his friend for awhile. Each time he wanted to, he was reminded of the neighbors. He didn't want to be made fun of again. One day the old man called the boy on the phone. He asked him to come over. He needed to talk to him. The boy thought of the neighbors and didn't want to go. But then he thought of his friend and how much he loved him. He decided to go. When he got there, the neighbors were outside again and started to make fun of him. The boy felt tears coming so he turned away and was about to start home. Then he heard someone call his name. He turned back and saw the old man standing on the porch with his arms wide open. The boy ran up and gave his friend a hug. "I didn't want to come." he said. "I didn't want them to hurt my feelings again." The old man took the boy's face in his hands and turned it up so he was looking straight inot his eye. "Did you come for them or for me?" he asked. "I love you. What else matters?" The boy knew his friend told the truth. He loved him. He felt good being there. He knew that was where he belonged.
When we go to church sometimes we are offended. When that happens we need to consider who we are going for. Do we go for the people or do we go for our friend, our Savior and our Heavenly Father, both of whom love us more than we can possibly imagine. I have seen a lot of people, members and investigators who stopped coming just because they were offended by someone. Please don't let anyone stop you from coming to church. Remember who you are- a child of God, and remember who you go for.
I'm doing fine this week. It's getting colder but I'm doing fine. We're really trying hard to find new people to teach. We contacted a former investigator and he seems golden! We had an amazing lesson with him this morning. He has had some trials and still has some things to overcome but he's got a lot of motivation and support.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Ours was really good. We had 2 dinner appointments.
We are seeing miracles every day!
Sorry this is short. Have a great week everyone!
